Great place, great staff!

I can honestly say that I have enjoyed every minute of living here. I moved in at the beginning of COVID last year. At that time most of the amenities were closed. The staff did an exceptional job at keeping tenants safe and distant. As restrictions started to lessen this year, the staff once again did an excellent job at following CDC guidelines. I will truly miss this place. I have no complaints. My neighbors are awesome, the staff is always friendly, and the maintenance crew is great! I just want to thank the entire Genesse team for this awesome experience. It has been a pleasure being a tenant here. -Ashley

Had a great experience

I just recently moved in and had a great experience. This building is (at least the "tower", the 8 story building) is top quality with concrete construction, and there appears to be very little to no noise transmission between the units. The floors feel solid and don't creak like other "luxury" apartments we looked at. The absolutely massive windows brighten our apartment immensely. Other comments about the management team and quick maintenance service are spot on, everyone is super friendly and the things we noted when we moved in were fixed in just a couple days. Best part of the location is quick access to a Fresh Thyme literally across the parking lot, and a Target across the street if you need anything else. My GF and I spent a lot of time trying to find a quality quiet apartment to live in, and among the sea of cardboard cutout "luxury" apartments with zero soundproofing, this one stands out.

We have really enjoyed staying in this community

We have really enjoyed staying in this community for couple of years. The concierge has always been very responsive and this goes to Whitney, Jordan and Cindy - they always had a smile on their face and helpful whenever we need anything. We hope to come back someday and stay there again.

It was an excellent experience

I lived there for close to three years. It was an excellent experience. The management was reasonable about rent and very fair back when I began renting (2017) and throughout the time I was living there (until 2020). The staff were really awesome, down to earth, friendly, and helpful. Others have mentioned Whitney and Tyler as being particularly awesome and I second that. Cindy was also very friendly and helpful. The apartment itself was very modern with granite countertops, stainless-steel appliances, in-unit washer/dryer, and almost sound-proof walls (I could only really hear my neighbors if I really tried and they had kids and grandkids over a lot so it's impressive I didn't really notice any noise). The underground, heated garage was included in the rent which was amazing and the amenities were great too. I didn't really use the pool but the gym was so convenient and had enough equipment that I didn't even need a gym membership to an outside gym. The location is crazy good too, it's got so much stuff around it like Fresh Thyme right across the street, Target, Caribou, Chick-fil-a, and the whole southtown mall across American Blvd. Not to mention, it's also reasonably close to both cities, the airport, and the mall. Centennial lakes was a spot that I would go to quite often as well and that was under a 10-minute drive away too. To put the cherry on top, I got my full security deposit back which does not happen, ever (in my experience with other apartments, there's always some miscellaneous cleaning charge withheld even if I do my best to clean the apartment before leaving). It was a great place to live!

The apartment complex is nice, it's in a great location, and maintenance always fixes issues quickly. The plaza apartments are super quiet. I literally never heard my neighbors. The noise in the tower building is just okay. You can definitely hear your neighbors every now and then but it's not too bad compared to some apartment complexes. The maintenance staff is super friendly and respectful. It was a great place to live!

Quality

The quality of service provided to residents at the Genesee is none like we've experienced before. We've lived at other luxury apartment complexes, and in comparison, the Genesee is our favorite so far. The company must high standards for their staff, because everything is handled so well. It's a pleasant place to come home to, because it's always clean and quiet. We never hear our neighbors - sides, above, or below. We looked at other apartments in Bloomington, and I'm so glad we chose this one. There's a reason their reviews online are so good!

Overall it was a great place to live!

I really enjoyed my year living at Genesee Apartments and as a woman living on my own I always felt very safe. The underground parking was very convenient and easy to park in. One of the best parts was living across the parking lot from a grocery store and a 5 min drive from Target, Caribou, and Starbucks. The management was very nice and helpful and the maintenance workers were always available when needed! Overall it was a great place to live!

Highly recommend!

Best place I have ever lived in my apartment and renting experience - which is vast! I lived in all 3 buildings at Genesee and all were wonderful. The management team is awesome and always happy to answer any questions or concerns that you might have - and in a timely manner. The maintenance crew is also great at what they do! The grounds are immaculate and the amenities are top notch. The underground heated parking is a must in the MN weather as well. Highly recommend!

Great Choice!!

In the process of moving out of Genesee now and will definitely miss living here! Great apartment (Pepin layout) that was very comfortable for my son and I. The office and maintenance staff were always very friendly and prompt with any concerns. The pool and rooftop areas along with the gym and party room were great amenities. Never had an issue with parking either. My only note of caution would be noise. Maybe I wasn't used to apartment living after several years of home ownership, but I experienced issues with the noise level of my neighbors for an extended period of time. I know managements hands are tied a bit, but it did disrupt our schedules. Additionally, the apartment faced Penn Ave so the street noise took some getting used to. Overall, though, this is a great place to live and I would recommend it for anyone searching for a place!

I’ve been blessed to call the Genesee my home!

I should probably note that this is my first apartment ever so I have nothing to compare the Genesee too - but why would I? The Genesee and their staff were amazing from start to finish and they continue to be. My partner and I have looked into dozens of apartments and maybe seen a handful of them. It’s safe to say that apartment tours can sometimes be redundant and mundane, but Erin, Tyler, and Whitney provided such a fun and memorable apartment tour that we knew upon leaving that we wanted to live here. The application process was easy and relatively swift, as we impatiently waited to hear the status of our application for an agonizing 3 days. Cue to 10 months of living here, the staff continue to provide exceptional customer service to all residents. I can honestly say that they’re genuinely amazing people. In addition, the maintenance team is very timely with work orders and does an amazing job to keep the Genesee clean. All in all, you can’t go wrong with living here (I would recommend not living anywhere else, tbh). I’ve been blessed to call the Genesee my home!

Great apartments, staff, and location!

The apartments are spacious, equipped with laundry, and ample closets. The staff is friendly and super helpful. Love that I can walk to the grocery store, Starbucks, Target, and lots of other restaurants. Lots of bus options as well. Glad I chose to call it home at Genesee.

I love living here, it really is home

I moved in about six months ago and it has really been a great experience. The amenities make me feel like I am living in a resort, but the staff makes me feel like I am part of a family. I love that I can walk to many places and the location allows me to get to almost anywhere in the Twin Cities. The building is quite quiet for how large it is and it is maintained very well. I'd recommend it to anyone!

Excellent Assistance

This morning I had a flat tire. Very fortunately for me members of the Maintenance team, Rick and John, were working nearby. I walked over and explained to team my situation and asked if there was an air station available in the complex. Rick explained not currently, but he and John would be happy to assist. They left to retrieve an air compressor and inflated my tire. Their attitudes and assistance was and is greatly appreciated. So I decided to write this review to thank Rick and John again. Their assistance, along with all the other amenities and services for which I have access are all reasons I am very happy to be a resident of Genessee.

Best Place I've Ever Lived!

I love living at Genesee! Moving here is the best decision I ever made. I love everything about Genesee, including the unit I live in, pool, rooftop, business center, free coffee/tea bar, party room, free yoga classes, my balcony, etc. I also love living in this area! I can walk 10 steps out of my front door to get to Fresh Thyme, great outdoor patios in the area, my work is across the street, and it's a central location to St. Paul and Minneapolis. The staff really cares about every resident. When I didn't find the perfect unit for my roommate and me, they invited us back a month later to look at more options instead of pressuring us to sign a lease for something we weren't completely in love with. Thankfully we found the perfect unit because I can't imagine living anywhere else!

More Than Just An Apartment, A Wonderful Home

I ve lived in many apartments from New York to California but Genesee is by far the best of all I m at a point in my life when I could live anywhere in the world, and I chose to live here The people, the amenities, the maintenance - it s all terrific. I love the community gatherings at different times throughout the year. I love that there is a wide age range of people who live here. I love the pet residents and really appreciate how they are welcomed and nurtured. And I m going to especially love having a major grocery store right across the street Genesee is a precious gem in the Twin Cities

Its A Fairly Nice Place To Come Home To.

Pretty nice place, lots of pretty good amenities, however a lot of the 'fit and finish' looks good but is pretty cheap. Also there are no closets in the 1 bedroom for the bathroom.

Love It!

The Genesee team makes an effort to make it feel "at home". They have a sense of urgency applied to everything they do, and have been so friendly to me during my stay. The facility is always clean which is extremely important to me, I feel SAFE, and have never had issues with noise or unpleasant neighbors. I would recommend to any person to live here if you are looking for friendly neighbors and a safe/fabulous place to live.

Consistency In Management

I love the Concrete Tower, as I call it. I am fortunate to live on the 8th floor. Quiet. This building has the look and feel of a modern, metropolitan co-op that you might find in NYCity, Chicago, or LA. I would have never put this kind of service, ammenities, and curb appeal in Bloomington, MN. The security level is terrific. We have some younger residents here and they have told me that their parents are happy with how safe the envrionment is for their independent living son or daughter. Because the main lobby area with the community room, theatre room, business center, and mail boxes is so open, it feels like a hotel or conference center versus an apartment building. I think this is a well thought out property. I like the materials used for my unit. I would recommend this place to any person. The demographic diversity is like NONE that I have ever seen. It is like living on the University of MN campus with all of the wonderful people from all walks of life.

We LOVE Living Here.

The amenities are awesome. The staff is super friendly and accommodating. The buildings and grounds are kept very clean. The apartments are quiet. There are coffee shops, grocery stores, restaurants, Herbergers, Target and Kohls not mention a number of other stores within 2 blocks of here. We're on the bus line. 494 is a block away but you never hear the trafific. Genesee is in a perfect location. After selling our home and not having another one ready to move into, we decided to live in an apartment while we house searched. It had been many years since we lived in an apartment and we weren't sure we'd like it. Much to our surprise we like it SO well we are still trying to decide if we just stay here. Genesee Apartments are absolutely wonderful.

So Far...So Good

I've been at Genesee for three months so far and have found that the pros are: - Extremely convenient location - Nice-looking apartments with stainless appliances and a smooth-top range as well as full size He washer and dryer - Concierge with services such as in-apartment package and dry cleaning delivery - Self-service car wash - Well-maintained units and grounds - State-of-the-art fitness room - Professional staff Cons: - Walls are paper-thin - It seems that one-bedroom apartments are not necessarily only for one or two individuals - Apartments are small in relation to cost of rent - Lack of storage space I have mostly enjoyed my first three months at Genesee. I was worried that they allow small dogs but I haven't noticed any "accidents" in the common areas nor been bothered by any barking. For the convenience and for having a "brand new" apartment, I recommend it.

Very Nice, Friendly Staff. Enjoyable.

I would say it is worth the price for the comfort and safety of the secure and warm buildings. I would also let them know that it is still an apartment atmosphere so understand that no amount of money will ensure the apartment is completely quiet and free from night-time pool/party go'ers.

Comfortable And Convenient Living. Friendly Active Atmospher

I like living here. If you chose to live at Genesee though, to make it worthwhile you should really consider if you will use the amenities. As a single adult, I pay a great deal more for rent than I would somewhere else in the city, but it is worth it if you actually use the conveniences in the building. I am disappointed however that there are many sites that are blocked on the Genesee computer network, even when you are using your own computer. When I moved in I thought I would be able to use the internet lounge more often and not have to pay for wi-fi in my unit, however so many sites are blocked I find it more or less useless.

Amazing Amenities, Wonderful Staff, And Friendly Neighbors.

Great! Love the amenities the apartment complex has to offer as well as the location since you are close to everything you could possibly want to go to. Highly recommend this place to anyone. One of my favorite things are the events that are held by the apartment staff like "Cooking with Kate". Awesome opportunities to meet everyone and have an entertaining night right at home.

I Love Living Here - I Can't Hear Anything At All Ever - It

It Is All About The Small Things

I use the Carwash bay often. You even provided the brush to scrub off the dirt and grime. It is these little things that make living here so nice. Now only if Pizza Hut would recognize the building address.

Nice And New

Not Your Average Apartment Complex

I was tired of living in what I felt was a college dorm. I watched as this place was being built and stopped by. I was instantly greated by an awesome staff who made me feel like a friend and not a rentor. My place feels more like a condo rather then an apartment. Granite tops, spacious rooms, HE Washer/Dryer, stainless steel appliances, calm and classic paint and trim, clean common areas and I could go on and on. It may seem pricey, but it is worth it. Now that the construction is finished and the retailers are moving in, this place will be even better. I love it here and so will you!

Amazing!

Its been wonderful so far. The move in went as smooth as can be and it was great to have food and movers provided for us! The construction is still pretty noisy and the 5:30 - 6 am wake up alarm of bulldozers can be slightly irritating but that's to be expected. Its been great to live in a brand new apartment and I'm really glad we made the choice! Can't wait for the swimming pool and fitness room.

Sweet!

I love that it's a non-smoking environment! Appliances are quiet! I can hear the person above walking but it isn't all the time. We enjoy exercising while looking out our good size windows with a nice view. Staff has been so nice and always quick to respond to our cries or cheers.

We Love, Love, Love It Here Already.

The staff are friendly and helpful. The building is clean and super quiet. The extra touches like the marble counter tops, stainless steel appliances the the neutral colors are a huge plus. Not to mention that any sort of shop, store, or restaurant is within walking distance. 35 W and 494 are within a block of Genesee. It's the perfect location.

New, Refreshing, Relaxing Place To End And Begin Your Day!

Its a new place that is changing as it opens up, for the features we have not yet tried like the gym and rooftop! I am very excited and so far the maintenance staff and office staff have been very helpful in all issues that come up. This has been the best move in experience and very comfortable place to settle down.
